Whatever may come and whatever may go

Last night I made myself a birthday cake, and practised walking around in my stompy boots. sion_a and I had a nice takeaway from the Golden Wok, plus wine, and (much later) lovely dessert.

It's not about never falling. It's about getting up again afterwards.

I didn't get to sleep till about 3am. I still got up and got into work, and spent two hours in meetings negotiating my way through smiling lies about my new job. I'm currently eating leftover Chinese, delicately picking up pieces of crab with chopsticks, to the amusement of cow-orkers. I don't know where I'm going to be in two weeks' time.

You wake up.

It's not about never falling.

I made myself look at those photos, because I don't want to run away from myself. I let sion_a see the ones that included me. He got distracted into some new image-manipulating software that would let him view them quickly; he was still reading the manual when I'd looked through all the photos one at a time.

You wake up. You fight, because if you don't, you just lose anyway. It's not about never falling.

Interesting result from the latest ticky-box quiz. I think my reaction to it told me something useful about myself, which is after all (IMHO) the point of these things.
