It amazes me that these people never even get curious about the glimpses of outside world that they see when walking from mummy and daddy's BMW to their college room.

I don't think it's just spoilt little rich kids who live in a bubble at university - I certainly did and my parents drive an Astra.

I was very aware of things that were going on in my college, and in the university, and in the area I lived in and so on - I'm the sort of person who even stops to read planning applications an lampposts - but the rest of Oxford, and local news, really wasn't something I was aware of.
