When I do a software release, the most manual part is to update the changelog file that we ship with it.
Yesterday, I updated the file, detailing the changes made. So I copied the header from the previous section, and pasted it in at the top. I added the new changes. I updated the date in the section header. I updated the file in the repository, kicked off the repositiory labelling process and then the build process.
Ah hour later, the email came back from a colleague - I'd forgotten to update the version number in the section header.
