Beer thirty

[livejournal.com profile] addedentry and I are having a birthday party at our place on Saturday May 10th. (That's not next Saturday but the one after.) I will be 30, he won't be (any more).

When: Tea/cake/faff from 3pm, proper party from party o'clock.
Where: HERE. If you don't have our address and/or you want directions, email/comment.
RSVP: would be helpful so we know vaguely how many people we're expecting.
Partners/children/friends: welcome, unless they are likely to start arguments or try to molest my badgers.
Pets: just not practical, sorry. Unless you have some very very tiny kittens.
Drinks: there will be some (including weird shit from the depths of the booze-cabinet), but more is always welcome! :-)
Eats: there will be nibbles and (if I have time to bake it) cake, and there are various vendors of munchies within spitting distance.
Spitting: not allowed, especially at our local munchies-vendors.
Smoking: also not allowed! Not even on the balcony (my birthday, my rules).
Badgers: positively encouraged (they don't count as pets).

Any other questions that I've failed to pre-empt, please ask!

And sorry for rather short notice -- lots of indecision and disorganisation round here at the moment...

ETA: and if you have suggestions for things I should do before I'm 30, feel free to post 'em here, bearing in mind I only have a week and I'll be at work for most of it...

You have written a Will, yes?

I bought a "write your own will" pack from Borders last week ;)

Not yet, no. :-/

If you're not dead of train by partytime then please do come!

Even if I'm not dead of train, I won't be alive enough for X5+sleeping bag. Unless you know of anyone coming by car who'd have room for a Me?

[livejournal.com profile] rmc28 and family are coming by car, and giving [livejournal.com profile] fivemack a lift ... but I don't know if that means they will have room or not! :-/

I sympathise on the BUS OF DEATH front though. I don't think I will ever be able to face the X5 again after the last time (http://j4.livejournal.com/309643.html).

Nah, I'm also cat-sitting that week for [livejournal.com profile] sion_a and [livejournal.com profile] 1ngi; the cats will have been on their own for a day and a half by the time I get back from Edinburgh, and I don't want to dash off again for a large chunk of the weekend and shirk my responsibilities as a warm substrate for shedding fur on :-)

I'm usually good with long bus journeys (even the one with overnight bacon, and the one with the nappy), but that trip sounds horrible. I took the X5 to Milton Keynes once and it was actually jolly nice - even though I got off in a hurry and left my coat on the luggage rack, I called them and they wrapped it up nicely and put it on the next coach back to Cambridge for me!

Some other day, eh, and have a great party.
