I did consider wearing DJ-and-bow-tie-etc instead. But a) my boss would think I was weird* and either Wouldn't Get It or would make offensive jokes about teh ghey and think it was hilariously funny**, and b) it wouldn't really be the sort of professional image I'm supposed to be projecting yada yada yada***, and c) I don't actually know where my tux is and I think I might have given it to my sister. :-}
* I mean, she'd be right, but she doesn't really do weird. ** and maybe that means I should challenge her assumptions more actively, and I do try to when I can in normal conversation etc, but at the moment I'm more in the "hide under a rock" frame of mind *** especially when I'll be probably the youngest person there & thus am trying to pretend to be a Normal Grown-up, I think I could probably get away with a bit more eccentricity if I didn't already feel like people saw me as still student-aged.
