I am Jack's pointless internet quiz

you
are tyler

instigator
of destruction (though you'd rather call it liberation)

you shun material things, your philosophy being

* the things you own end up owning you *

...you are the only person your friends know who knows how to make explosives
from soap...

see which character you are!

I am Jack's total lack of surprise. :-)

you
are angel face

you were
the teacher's pet in school!

keen to get ahead in whatever you find yourself doing

you may come across as obsequious and sycophantic

...oh, and your boss secretly resents you...

Thea Gilmore: Rules for Jokers

Oooh, now there's a good album. I really must have a look for her other stuff, I was going to ask for something for my birthday but we got broadband instead!

[identity profile] j4.livejournal.com 2003-05-12 08:48 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, somebody else who's heard of her! :-)

I've got Songs from the Gutter (http://www.theagilmore.com/gutter.htm) -- I can burn you a copy if you want. It's good, but hasn't grown on me as fast as "Rules for Jokers" did. (Maybe just because I haven't listened to it as much.)

[identity profile] k425.livejournal.com 2003-05-12 11:56 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, somebody else who's heard of her! :-)

Blame Bob Harris on a Saturday night on Radio 2. Except you're young and probably go out on a Saturday night and never heard of Radio 2, let alone Bob Harris...

However, I'd love a copy of Songs from the Gutter - I'd offer something in return but you'll have to get August to tell you what you might like of what I've got!

I'm young, and I go out on a Saturday night, yet I've herard of Radio 2, and even Whispering Bob...

[identity profile] k425.livejournal.com 2003-05-13 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
I'm young

You're older than me and j4, and I can remember when you didn't go out on a Saturday night.

[identity profile] hoiho.livejournal.com 2003-05-13 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
True; I'm also old enough to remember when I used to go out on Saturday nights.

[identity profile] k425.livejournal.com 2003-05-13 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
I'd be surprised if you didn't, since we're talking about, oh, just last week.

[identity profile] hoiho.livejournal.com 2003-05-13 07:33 am (UTC)(link)
Are we? Gosh, how soon we forget...
Did I go anywhere nice, then?

[identity profile] k425.livejournal.com 2003-05-13 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
I dunno, mate, I was home in bed, myself.

[identity profile] hoiho.livejournal.com 2003-05-13 08:53 am (UTC)(link)
I don't suppose I was with you, was I?

[identity profile] k425.livejournal.com 2003-05-13 10:47 am (UTC)(link)
Are you a black and white cat or a paunchy OldBloke?

[identity profile] hoiho.livejournal.com 2003-05-13 11:25 am (UTC)(link)
Er, no. So, whose bed was I in, then?

[identity profile] k425.livejournal.com 2003-05-13 11:29 am (UTC)(link)
Yours?

[identity profile] j4.livejournal.com 2003-05-14 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Whose bed have your boots been under?"

[identity profile] hoiho.livejournal.com 2003-05-14 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
under

Under? Hell, I keep them on!

[identity profile] j4.livejournal.com 2003-05-13 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Except you're young and probably go out on a Saturday night and never heard of Radio 2

Um, I listen to R2 in the mornings (though you're right, I do tend to go out on Saturday nights) and I have heard of Whispering Bob Harris. :-) That's not how I found Thea Gilmore though -- I just bought the single of "Fever Beats" on spec after seeing a good review of it (in which they compared TG to Joni Mitchell -- always a good sign!) in AdHoc. Pure luck really.

Will burn you a copy of SftG (email me with snail-mail address?) -- don't worry about something-in-return, either something will come up or it'll just get written down in the big book of Music-Sharing Karma.

Terry Wogan. Best thing on the radio these days.

Don't worry about posting - give August the CD as he's promised me a visit clad in leather.

If I remember I'll do you a copy of I, Lucifer by The Real Tuesday Weld. I don't care if you like it or not, I just think lots and lots more people should hear it!

Ah. That explains why I keep getting LJ messages telling me I've had a comment replied to - there are three identical ones from you!

[identity profile] j4.livejournal.com 2003-05-13 07:17 am (UTC)(link)
I have no idea why it just did that. Freaky!

Deleted now, anyway.

The real danger's in the nice dress...

[identity profile] hoiho.livejournal.com 2003-05-12 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
That dress is not nice.
I can think of other words for it, though...
