Phantom Phones

Last night I woke up twice, each time convinced that I'd just heard the phone ring once. The first time it was the landline that I thought I heard, the second time it was my mobile. Then I fell asleep again, and this time dreamed that I had made this LiveJournal post.

Morning!

Your phone's being tapped.

You have just reminded me of a short prose piece by Harold Pinter, of which many things remind me, and each time I am reminded thereof I try and fail to find the text of the piece on the WWW, and each time I forget to go and ferret it out at home.

This time I will try to remember.

I went through a several-week phase of imagining the doorbell ringing. It was very annoying, I kept waking up at 7am.

I blame the Phantom Phone Ringer.

Now that Tiswas is long gone, there are no more Flans to be Flung, so Phones to be Rung represents a relatively small degree of diversification.
