w00t!!

I got the Web Publishing Assistant job at MISD!

This is all "subject to paperwork" but they've already got my references so hopefully nothing can go wrong now. They want me to start on Feb 2nd -- a week on Monday! Salary will be £19,365 (bottom of the payscale, but compared to previous salary -- let alone current salary -- it's v good).

I will be in the Carlton tonight, celebrating. Hope to see lots of people there. :)

Hmph, considerably more than MY salary, which is at the TOP of the payscale. Congrats!

Cripes. Sorry! I'm surprised, what with academentia not generally being known for its GetRichQuick potential...

Cor, that's very nearly the same amount of money as me, I'll have to ask for a raise, important to maintain differentials and all that. Yay you.

Excellent! Hurrah for filling MISD with useful people!

*happy bounce* I am THRILLED to hear this!

Sometimes good things really do happen to good people. Seemingly random bursts of good karma have broken out sporadically over my Friends list many times over the past half-week or so. It is tremendously reassuring.

Nice one. And hopefully if you are starting on the bottom of the payscale that means your pay is quite likely to go up as you get into the job.

Yay! Go you!

And of course I won't be there to have a drink with you, sorry. :)

[identity profile] j4.livejournal.com 2004-01-22 07:44 am (UTC)(link)

Hopefully yes. Especially since they will hopefully train me to do more l33t things too. 8-)

& I was only really expecting Cambridge ppl to turn up to the Carlton tonight. :) Though it'd be lovely to see you if you ever are in this neck of the woods, or indeed if I'm ever in the Other Place...

That is a very respectable sum of money actually, for the bottom of an academic payscale [it's just above point 2 on the RS1A scale which seems to be what academic computing support bods are assigned over here - or at least I was, anyway].

So good luck with the paperwork, and let's hope it proves to be a satisfying job.
