20,000 people sitting in a field
Feb. 26th, 2004 04:34 pmOkay, this may seem a bit premature, but I'm trying to get organised in advance so I know where I'm going to be and when:
Who is planning on going to Glastonbury this year?
It looks like people are only going to be able to buy two tickets this year (half as many as last year! in three years' time we'll only be able to buy half a ticket...), and they are DEFINITELY NON-TRANSFERABLE (just like last year, and how they propose to check I really don't know). So, the other question is:
Who is planning on buying tickets?
(Tickets go on sale at 8pm on 1st April.)

For
j4's benefit - yup, I plan to go.

I mean, do you have to give name, address, phone number, blood type, etc. for the person you claim to be buying the second ticket for?

Date: 2004-02-26 09:06 am (UTC)They may simply require that the person coming in with the second ticket actually physically enters with the person whose name is on the first ticket (ie two tickets are issued with the same name on, the buyer shows ID, and no separate entry permitted). A bummer if you're planning on meeting your chosen one there, but SOP for guest lists IME.

Date: 2004-02-26 09:19 am (UTC)It's entirely possible that they're just saying it to put the evil touts off, though.

If I ran Glastonbury, I'd make people do impressions of a squirrel on acid in order to get their tickets. Best 150,000 impressions get a ticket. Simple! But these days people are afraid of merit-based systems of evaluation, neigh quack moo, on the internet nobody knows you're a badger, IS IT FRIDAY YET?

Date: 2004-02-26 09:36 am (UTC)I wanted to get all the pixies tickets and make people take an exam (set by *me*) and write an essay and I would decide who could have tickets based on that.
