Taking refuge in nonsense
Sep. 30th, 2004 03:30 pmTaking me a while to get my head around being here again & being back at work. It's amazing how little time it took for the Cambridge Effect to kick in again.
People seem to want me to write more about my holiday, god knows why, but really I didn't do very much other than eat, drink, mooch around, and admire the scenery; anything I write is just going to be so much navel-gazing.
In the meantime, a daft quiz-thing stolen from

Pet badger and some shiny shoes for me, please.

Go to the toy aisle of any store. All the dolls (or "action figures") come packaged with one or two "accessories." Barbie has her purse, The Hulk has a big rock, Space Ghost has little cards and a desk.
If I were to go to the toy store and buy a YOU action figure, which one or two little objects would be in your package with you?
Pet badger and some shiny shoes for me, please.

- No. Anyway you overdo it with your carrots.

Date: 2004-10-01 03:04 am (UTC)Ah, but that *really* doesn't work with things like The Listener and Enigmatic Variations, where there's a gimmick. Ususally it's something along the lines of finding the misprinted letter in the definition of each clue and then following the instruction (given by reading the correct letters in clue order) to resolve clashes between across and down clues. :-)
In fact the item in my right hand in my user icon is a pencil, and if you could see the full picture you would see a table with an Enigmatic Variations crossword on it in front of me!
