...at least not when it's already late & watching it would mean staying up ridiculously late.
Good film, though. Sorry
hoiho for stealing your much-needed sleep, but you needed to see it. :-)
Anyway. Thank you again to
lnr,
ewx,
daneel_olivaw and
hoiho for coming round to help
sion_a and me pack up the kitchen -- we'd never have got it all done otherwise! And thank you all for introducing me to "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", too. I still think it would have been funnier with slightly more chemical assistance than silly cocktails, but it was good nonetheless.
"Fear and Loathing" did give me much the same feeling as "Withnail and I" and "24 Hour Party People" do, though -- the feeling that the party already happened, and all that's left is the long hard comedown. Maybe it's just a question of perspective, and if somebody turned our lives into a film or a book it would make other people feel that they'd missed something important; but I can't help feeling that I'm missing the opportunities, the experiences, the chance to make something happen.
...
Lots of things I want to say about fighting (both metaphorical and physical) but the thoughts won't quite coalesce into something coherent. Maybe later.
