Open/shut case

One of the double doors dividing our department from the next one has started scuffing the carpet, leaving a big black arc across the floor. Official response to this has been to stick a large sign on the offending door, saying "PLEASE USE OTHER DOOR FOR THE TIME BEING". I don't know why this irritates me quite so much -- it can't be just that the out-of-order door is the closest to the card-swipe mechanism, can it? am I really that lazy? -- but I'm currently trying to convince myself that it would be unhelpful and pointless to stick a sign on the other door saying "PLEASE FIX OTHER DOOR".
