K must have been six or seven when she got it (at 3am on my birthday). I remember it as a cheerful and friendly week of snuggling on the sofa eating grapes, and without much grouchiness. Apart from the night 48 hours after the first spot, which I think was the single worst night I've had with her; she was very feverish and upset. But it went away after the one night.
I'd recommend aiming for as low-key as possible, and not scheduling things which assume you're going to be awake 8-) Also, she's very little, isn't she? Have you got mittens, in case she tries to scratch?
