I don't think it was me who suggested that an MD recorder was the best way to do anything. I do remember talking about MD recorders, but I thought I came into the conversation at the point where you wondered if anybody had one and I said I did.
I do have one, and you can certainly borrow it if you want it, but it would seem like an odd idea if you have no way of playing the result!
In particular, I'm not sure what an MD recorder gains you that an ordinary tape recorder wouldn't (other than probably better recording quality). The only functional difference I can think of is that the MD recorder has an optic-fibre input which allows it to get music out of a CD player without going through a D->A->D conversion and adding noise. Very useful for copying my CDs for use in the car, but doesn't seem obviously helpful in your situation...
Still, er, yes. Notwithstanding all that, if there is some perfectly good reason why an MD recorder is the right thing and I'm just being thick, then you're welcome to borrow it if we can work out a way of getting it to you.
