j4Did the assessment for the Intelligence Officer job this afternoon. It was quite vague and woolly, although I got the impression that this was so that they could see what approach people took to a problem rather than how well they followed explicit instructions. Anyway, I don't think I did badly -- at least, I managed to cobble something together; but apparently 12 other people got to that stage and the overall standard was "very high", so I don't think I'm in with that much of a chance, to be honest. Still, I'll know one way or the other tomorrow, so at least I won't have to wait too long.
However, I've also got an interview on Friday for the tech writer job with these people. The whole application process has been very informal so far, and the CEO just suggested I come round for "a chat", so even the interview doesn't sound like it should be a very scary interview. On the other hand, I'm trying to bluff my way into a job for which I have no qualifications and frankly minimal experience, so, er.

pto452 to get her dynamo fixed on Friday, but I think with some judicious car-shuffling between myself and sion_a (and some mad driving back and forth) I might be able to manage that as well.
