When I was about 14 or 15, I went on a badger watch at Wirral Country Park, which was really great. We even managed to see an ickle badger. Fond memories.
Have you thought about joining a badger group, eg the Cambs Badger and Otter group? [googling gives various different people as contacts - so some are probably out of date] http://www.badger.org.uk/groups-e.html
I bought my big red rucksack off of Graham (surname withheld), the bloke who goes undercover and shops badger-diggers. A man with very steady nerves.
The rucksack squeaks - it's original owner thought there's a crack in the metal frame. There isn't: it just squeaks. Does that count as a small perky badger noise?
