"After visiting your website admin.cam.ac.uk/news/pr/1999110401.html we'd like to invite you to be listed under the "China" section of our geographical directory, WWW.L-O-C-A-L.COM."
i've had a spate of these recently. normally from apparently semi-relevant places.
they get ignored especially due to the semi-blackmail "if you don't link us, we'll be forced (forced i say!) to remove your sites link". (i say semi because it's only blackmail at a sub-logical level.)
I had a similar email wanting to list me under "Mexico" because I took some photos of a dump of a border town (http://hex.oucs.ox.ac.uk/~rejs/photos/A40/USA2003/NM/Juarez/).
I once casually referred to the word "prospectus" when being pretentious and arty, and have been spammed by people doing dodgy share flotations ever since as a result!
I get non-specific ones, but these refer to my article "Re: psychogeography", and saying things like "please send me yr prospectus, I have capital to injvest in ventures concerning the oil industry."
