On Sunday night [livejournal.com profile] addedentry and I got back from a week's holiday in Switzerland. My parents, my sister and her boyfriend are all still over there, staying in a small mountain village in the Val de Bagnes area. When we left, we expressed a light-hearted hope that we'd manage to take the rain back with us to Britain, leaving them with some better weather for the remaining week of their holiday. It's a good job I don't believe you can jinx these things.

Update: All safe and well, with no more inconvenience than having had to cancel a couple of proposed day-trip plans due to road closures. Phew.

Bulgaria? *confused*

I did get a reply from my mum eventually; thanks for the reminder that I ought to let LJ know as well (see edit).

Mind you if I'm responsible for the levels of rain we're getting in Cambridge at the moment, then I should be hanging my head in shame IN A BIG SOGGY BUCKET. :-/

Maybe I'm misremembering - I thought the link mentioned huge rainstorms in Austria, Bulgaria, Moldova, and Uttermost Thule as well as Switzerland.

Glad they're all OK. Hate long-distance worries!!

We Need Rain. No soggy buckets required. Those of us with plants in dry fields are thanking you, or would be, if you were responsible.
