Ely Folk Festival
The Oysterband are playing the Ely Folk Festival, on Saturday 12th July. The Ely Folk Festival cunningly sells day-only tickets, and even evening-only tickets for the Saturday evening, so it'd be entirely possible to just go to see the Oysterband, or (my preferred option) go for the whole of the Saturday. Anybody else up for this? Mail me if so...

Cropredy Festival
Cropredy is clearly a Good Thing(tm), but I've never yet managed to get there. It's possible to buy a Saturday-only ticket (£28.00), so I'm thinking of wandering down to Oxford on the Friday night, finding a friendly floor on which to crash, and then somehow getting to Cropredy the next day. Again, mail me if you're interested...

Glastonbury
I already have a ticket for Glastonbury, but am keeping an eye on Glastonbury forum and [livejournal.com profile] glastonbury in the hope that we'll find a spare one for [livejournal.com profile] hoiho. Is it true that they're not going to let anybody in who has a resold ticket? How in $deity's name are they going to know?

As I say IRL, I'm up for the Saturday at the Ely Festival. I already have glasto tickets for me and RJK. Not sure about Cambridge or Cropredy, I'll be considering both of them nearer the time I reckon.

According to their website:

"GLASTONBURY ACTIVELY MONITORS THE RE-SALE OF TICKETS AND RE-SELLING TICKETS IS AGAINST THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF OUR SALE AGREEMENT WITH THOSE WHO BUY TICKETS.

Glastonbury Festival 2003 Limited reserve the right to CANCEL THE PURCHASE of any tickets that are found to be offered for re-sale. This means the seller of these 'tickets' will not receive those tickets and their purchase payment will be refunded.

Please note that this notice and these actions does not effect genuine ticket buyers but the Festival now feels that it is necessary to take action against those who actively re-sell tickets for profit."

In other words: if you buy at an inflated price, you run the risk that the seller won't get their ticket & thus you won't get yours. Buying at face value or thereabouts you should be OK. There's also a tickets-wanted message board on the Glastonbury site itself, so they're clearly OK about people selling on tickets not-for-profit.

Ely Folk Festival

Yes, most definitely.
All day Saturday sound good.

Cropredy Festival

Very interested.
I haven't done Cropredy for years (since before I lived around thet way).

Glastonbury

Yes, yes, yes! Looking for ticket, sending out begging emails to all the Glasto-ites I know.
I'm sure I'll get one eventually.

Now, who wants to come with me to see Hawkwind at The Junction on 18 May?

What day of the week is that?

Hmm, pencil me in. I'll see if rjk's up for it too, since he's the closet fan.

Hawkwind does seem to have a lot of them.

My name is August, and I like Hawkwind!

I like Hawkwind too! I've seen them live about 18 times... and I sometimes sleep in my 1988 tour tshirt. :-)

Right. I want to book tickets for Ely Folk Fest soonish -- how about if I book 4 tickets (you, me, [livejournal.com profile] sion_a, [livejournal.com profile] lnr, who are the only definite ayes I've had so far) and any latercomers will have to fend for themselves tickets-wise?

Cropredy -- I'll have a looksee if I can get cheaper tickets through the Fairport mailing list. [livejournal.com profile] sion_a, you said you were up for this one too, right? I want to book tickets sooner rather than later (though it will have to wait till after pay day now!).

Glasto -- August, I'm looking for a ticket for you as well. Do you want me to tell you first or act first (if only to send a "yes please!" email) if I see one? They tend to go in seconds, is all.

Now, who wants to come with me to see Hawkwind at The Junction on 18 May?

Oh, go on then. :) ("My name's Janet, and I've loved 'Quark, Strangeness and Charm' since I was a tiny teenager.") [livejournal.com profile] sion_a says he'd like to go too. Are you handling tickets for this one?

...

Much further in the future, who wants to come and see Keith Emerson & The Nice with me at the Corn Exchange on Wednesday October 8th? Tickets are a bit pricey (£25!), but I'm definitely going anyway.

Cropredy & Ely

Yes, book for me, please! Both, and.

Glasto Do you want me to tell you first or act first

Act first; the worst we (I) can end up with is a spare ticket, and that's wouldn't be much of a problem to get rid of.

Hawkwind Are you handling tickets for this one?

Yes; I'll do that, as soon as those possibly interested (Sion, rjk) confirm.

That's roughly what I figured.

[Hawkwind]
as soon as those possibly interested (Sion, rjk) confirm.

Like I said, [livejournal.com profile] sion_a does want to come. Or do you mean you want him to confirm it to you directly?

Some of this might be better taken to email. :)

Cropredy is great fun. I was going to offer a bed, rather than a floor, but then looked at the dates... I suspect we may not be in a state to offer crash space then! :-) Oh well, it might turn out well for you coming to say hello to the Clanger though.

That would be cool. (A bunch of random hippies turning up on the doorstep isn't going to traumatise a Small Clanger at all, then? :)

This reminds me: we should have a Small Clanger / Deep Summer tatmeet. When would be good from your point of view? Was thinking second/third weekend in August maybe...

Third is probably better than second, for a number of reasons, not least that if SC goes late, he/she may not appear until around 1st August. (Probably no later than the 4th though.) If so, I'm not sure I'd be in any fit state to go anywhere until at least the second week, and more likely the third. If SC decides to arrive in July that's less of a problem, of course.

Smallclanger has a LJ now. :-)

Awwww!

We shall aim for 3rd weekend in August then... I'll write it in the calendar when I get home to remind me to help organise it :-)
