I made some scones today. They're a bit flat. I think the cheap self-raising flour might have lost its self-raise.

Sometimes I feel like I'm being dogged by relentless symbolism.

addedentry has grandiose ideas about making Cranberry and Stilton Scones this weekend (from one of Lord Sainsbury's recipe cards: take some Sainsbury's stilton, some Sainsbury's cranberries, mix in some Sainsbury's flour etc). Will keep you posted.

I've found htat self raising flour is doom: plain flour and baking powder is the future!

nah. self-raising flour is Quake i.e. much overrated. Doom was actually good :)
