Me, Marna, Bec, Juliet, Pete, doop, Kat, Rick, my friend Keif, two or three others you probably don't know. Oh, and 170,000 others most of which you won't know either :-)

Should be fun.

Martin & Deirdre are camping with us, as well.

We have tickets now! Hurrah!

Please can we camp with all you cool people? We promise to try not to be embarrassingly uncool. :-}

From: [personal profile] juliet
Sorry dude - we said we'd keep it to the people we normally camp with at festivals (also we're about at maximum-tent-number for trying to set up together, at least if [livejournal.com profile] marnameow & I aren't to lose it totally in the cat-herding stress). But we're planning to be up at Pennards (UP being the appropriate word, after 2005's Brand New River excitement) so if you're up there doubtless we will encounter each other!

Hurrah, today's forecast from Metcheck says no rain Fri/Sat after all! And only a little on Sun. (I know, I know, it's total fiction even this far in advance.)

You has a BADGEH!

From: [identity profile] boyofbadgers.livejournal.com
I has MANY BADGEH! Though not as many as you, admittedly.

If you fancy meeting up before the madness sets in properly, Kat and I (and half the interweb, if past years are anything to go by) will be guzzling perry at the Brothers Bar from 5ish onwards on the Thursday.

No. :-( But our office admin is, so clearly Glastonbury just isn't cool anymore. :-)

You may have a point there... further evidence: the Director of OUCS is going. My mum is going.

I think Glasto officially stopped being cool when Worthy Farm stopped giving the hippies free milk.

Not Glastonbury, but I am going to Cheltenham for the week-end travelling Sat/Mon. Not going to be fun, although I have seat reservations for some of the journey legs. I think that means I only take two bits of luggage rather than the three I would otherwise.

VBG and huzzah for you! Have you a village plan for yourself and the tents of your friends/kith/kin, or do you plotz yourself wherever you can, as long as it's upwind of the loo ditches?

No very solid plan as yet... Last time (more by luck than good judgement) we ended up on a hill, which proved to be a Good Thing when floods washed away everything at the bottom of the hill. This time we will be attempting to repeat our hill strategy (though no apocalyptic floods forecast this time) and/or camping with those folk up there [points vaguely somewhere up the comments thread]. Or camping with my mum. :-)

Apocalyptic floods weren't sodden forecast last time, either. Sez the bitter person much nearer the bottom of the hill.

Our tickets have arrived. One for me and one for a mysterious dark fuzzy blob which I am supposed to believe is my boyfriend.

Up hill and near your mum sounds like a great combination: she clearly has mojo. I bet she attracts a lot of very fine people to the vicinity and next year EVERYONE will be queueueueuing to get a pitch near you and Your Mum.

I am tempted to tell the story of CATS (as in All Your Base, not as in TS Eliot) through the medium of this new-fangled loll-cats macro imagery fashion, but it seems so obvious as not to be worth doing. Perhaps lolTSE might yet be unclaimed.

This is of little interest, so I shall instead provide a silly but entertaining link (http://manos74.livejournal.com/290855.html).

Both of those notions and many others have been made manifest on the ROFLgeddon thread (http://nielsenhayden.com/makinglight/archives/009050.html#009050) on Making Light, which I very strongly recommend to anyone who has a couple of hours to spare and is interest in bright creative people doing cool stuff with an amazing range of sources.

Are you sure that you could have worked in a misused apostrophe somewhere in there? Or mistaken "There","They're" and "Their"? :D

I love the way that they put the cost of the ticket under the "rays of the mystical pyramid" just to remind you how much you paid should you suddenly sober up or the drugs wear off! :D

Don't be daft. Theirz a recognisable grammar (http://icanhascheezburger.com/2007/04/24/lol-kitteh-as-a-second-language-lksl-101-in-five-easy-steps/) to these things, you know. :-D

At the risk of being boring, I do think the cost of the ticket is pretty good value for money... how much would you expect to pay for about 25 gig tickets?

From: [identity profile] arron-shutt.livejournal.com
I think you did very well to get one (given the speed they sold out), and although it seems a lot of money, I've spent more on car tires before now, and car tires are very dull. :D

I hope you have lots of fun whilst you're there :D

Are you really wearing nothing but a shirt?

Sorry, I'm sure i shouldn't notice things like that, much less comment.

Our internet at work is now differently broken. This morning I had chiark but no LJ, now I have LJ but no chiark.

In answer to your question: I certainly don't mind you noticing or commenting ;-) but in fact in that photo I am wearing brown corduroy trousers. Sorry to disappoint you!

Ah, yes. Colours on this monitor look much paler when they're at the bottom of the screen for some reason, but those are blatantly too dark to be your legs even if very tanned.

Shame :-)
