Actually, Last Train from Maidenhead sounds very much like a Graham Greene thriller. Stamboul Train crossed with the one set in fictional Nottingham.

As it turned out, the last train from Maidenhead was delayed by...something, not sure what, we just had to sit on a train in the middle of nowhere until whatever it was was sorted, and we didn't get back until 2 in the morning, at which point we just wanted to go to bed.

We'll just have to organise another pub meet when you're in the right city. And maybe with a bit more notice. And best of all we'll be able to go to ANY PUB AT ALL and know that it won't be smoky!
