In the uncertain hour of the morning

I was woken up by the news on Radio 2, telling me that Kingsnorth has been put on hold and that T. S. Eliot is the nation's favourite poet. Then we saw two wrens in the garden.

Perhaps there is hope for us after all.

There's still hope: there's hope for as long as there are wrens, and rabbits, and bees; for as long as there are the vast waters of the petrel and the porpoise, and a pair of ragged claws givin it this.

We saw a hedgehog in the garden this evening too! Apparently the trick with 'gardening for wildlife' is not to make your garden too tidy. We're totally on the case.
