It is interesting, but I did find it really got in my nerves in places. I'm afraid I skim-read it a bit, should probably try it in more detail and read some of the linked stuff too.
Reminded me a bit of something I wrote a while back about actors and spectators. I think descriptively what he's written is fairly accurate. Not so sure about the conclusions he's drawn though.
Or without the fuck-off-unreadable colour scheme at http://www.reciprocality.org/Reciprocality/add.html . (Still working through some of the background -- I've had "The Programmer's Stone" bookmarked but unread for ages.)
I'm a bit puzzled by 'acquired autism', as I've not heard of it before. What he's describing sounds plausible up to the point where he makes the jump to autism, to be honest. The description which most helped me to understand autism involves a lack of internal cohesion - all the components of the mind are there and working, but can't easily communicate with each other. The reason language doesn't form, as I understand it, as because the person sees no link between making sounds and hearing sounds, or seeing the reactions of other people. They're all sensed, but there's no connection made.
I may have misunderstood when it was explained to me, however, so take the usual pinch of salt.
