Slept badly, despite getting to bed at a reasonable time. Sore throat that I had yesterday seems to have lessened, but has been replaced by a chesty cough.

Feeling irritable and edgy. This has not been helped by being told that I'm an "objectively dangerous" driver by somebody who doesn't know me, has never seen me drive, and knows next-to-nothing about my car.

Stupidly left my wallet at home this morning -- which means I can't buy lunch, can't buy stamps for the job applications which I finished over the weekend, and can't buy anything from the drinks/snacks machine (though this last is probably a good thing).

And that's before I get the Bad News email.

I found those comments pretty crap too. *hugs* I've felt much safer being driven by you in your car than I have by some other people in much more modern ones. (Sorry Andrew but that speed round the Oxford ringroad was really quite nervewracking!) And he completely ignored your point about the environmental cost of building and scrapping cars all the time: all that plastic in modern cars too!

*hugs* for the Bad News too, whatever it is.

[shrug] From my experience [livejournal.com profile] j4 is a safer driver than me, it's true. You're not going to offend me by pointing out that I speed!

FWIW, I felt completely comfortable when being driven by you. Whether you were as happy when I was driving Patricia is another matter. :-)

*hugs* and good luck with the applications.

If you know you're unsafe, do something about it!

Ah, apparently it's not so much my driving, it's my evil deathtrap of a car that's the issue. See comments in Sion's journal (http://www.livejournal.com/users/sion_a/33253.html) from [livejournal.com profile] gerald_duck, though I've given up on rational argument with duck-brain by now.

Heh, I knew she was safe in your hands but there was still a feeling of "Agh! Can I trust somebody else with my baby??" there. I'll get over it eventually. :-)

I didn't say I felt I was unsafe, I said that I felt you were safer. This is due to a combination of factors including your vehicle and your driving style. Safety is always relative, and I tend to err on the side of preserving my safety through overtly positive driving, whereas you (IME) tend to err on the side of defensive driving (erring on the side of preserving the safety of those around you). Who is right? Which is more applicable on the M25 at 8am, and which in the centre of Cambridge at noon?

All fair points. I was only really being facetious anyway. Please, please, can we not have a big argument about it?

A big argument the last thing I want. *hug* Take care.
