To whoever is responsible for dreams:

It has come to my attention, as a result of recent dream-happenings, that you may be acting under a misapprehension. I wish, if I may, to clarify my current situation: I am fully aware of the worries, conscious and subconscious, which are occupying my mind. Although I appreciate the effort you appear to be making to reveal these things to me by means of heavy-handed symbolism, I can assure you that it is entirely unnecessary, and in fact only creates further anxiety.

In future I would be extremely grateful if dreams of a more escapist nature could be provided for me, preferably involving one or more of the following: badgers, wings, cheap second-hand bookshops which have all the books I want, shoes which grow on trees, free beer, marrying princes, marrying princesses, friendly dragons, and implausible situations in which I save the world with my superhuman powers.
