Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes

I like the snow. It's actually not as cold now as it was yesterday (and it's easy enough to wrap up warm anyway), and Cambridge actually looks pretty for a change. As I walked into work there were loads of small children running around excitedly in the snow, and that never fails to make me smile. And the effects of light and shade on snow-covered Jesus Green were so beautiful that I couldn't bear to try to take a photo of it, because a photo just wouldn't have done it justice.

But from the sublime to the ridiculous: anybody else up for a snowball fight on Parkers Piece at lunchtime? :)

Bah, I wouldn't be able to get there in time.. short lunch today for me.

I'm not too keen on the idea of a snowball fight, but there are already some enormous ones on Parker's Piece, including a giant snowman with a cone for a hat. (Students, eh? :-) )

Hmm - must remember to consider taking a photo while it's still snowy which might be useful for 2004's generic religion-free home-made non-Christmas cards. Middlesbrough isn't great source material, but it's better than nothing.

I never thought it would feel so indulgent seeing people enjoy the snow in Cambridge, when there's been snow on the ground here since November, there will be until April, and the snowbank at the end of the street on which my apartment is is a good metre taller than me.

Nor would I ever have thought how warm -14 can feel when you're coming to it from -35.
