Right. I will be in Switzerland from 7th-13th August. If I was supposed to be doing anything then, I'm not going to be doing it now, because I'll be in the wrong country.

There are times when only mountains will do.

Oh, but it melts so beautifully (and then there's no air in it) for fondue. Swiss fondue. Mmmmmmmmmmmm. /me puts all that lost weight back on just thinking about it. ;-)

Raclette's better than fondue.

We should go for a raclette some time. There's this lovely restaurant in Le Chable...

Dammit, come to Switzerland with me. Please.

come to Switzerland with me

I'd love to.
But I'm in Scotland that week.

Come to Switzerland with me later in the year, then!

Or we could go next year, and go for August 1st, and see the fireworks ... sit outside the chalet in the warm evening air and watch the entire valley blossoming into flowers of light.

I'm in Scotland that week.

Well, that beats "I'm washing my hair" for an excuse.

Just.

You beat me to it.

Leftover raclette cheese makes such good cheese-on-toast, too.

Leftover raclette

Nope, don't understand this.
Unless you under-catered on the potatoes.
The HORROR.

It's not so much "under-catered on the potatoes" as "filled every suitable pan I own with potatoes and this still proved not quite enough for the amount of cheese which well-meaning grandparents gave me". They bring back a piece about ... [waves hands] *this* big.

Coo; I do like a woman with a big cheese.

[to be sung to generic bluesy tune]

"I've got a big cheese, baby, and it's melting just for you.
I've got a big cheese, baby, and it's melting just for you.
Come over here baby, dip your bread in my hot fondue."

What is "leftover raclette cheese"?

Have a lovely time, and eat plenty of cheese and chocolate. But not together, I don't think they go.

They go quite well, actually, for some values of cheese and chocolate. A ripe and dense cheese with some very dark bitter chocolate, definitely. Or any mildish creamy-tasting cheese with dark chocolate batons full of kirsch, dusted with cocoa.

*drool*
