Have a natter and catch up, and generally talk about intellectual geeky things in some pub with food + good beer. Preferably that place between Jesus and Parker's Piece which does massive doorstep sandwiches, or the Mitre.
Lots of places : London, Oxford, Banbury, Kidlington and deepest darkest Gloucester for last 18 months. Oh and also the Warneford for a bit too. I am now working on detecting and stopping spam which means I get to read lots of people's email and spend many hours looking at some really strange Japanese porn emails. *shudders. Still living in Oxford.
Another box to tick in the big book of 'been there done that'. Strangely enough it was very reminiscent of being in the 6th form, reading newspapers, discussing things with like minded people (not necessarily a good thing), school dinners and lots of lessons (aka group therapy).
Pub - I think it is the Cricketers Arms I'm thinking of. Dont get over to Cambridge very often, but I'll keep my eye open for a conference or something and try and get a few days there.
That sounds like an excellent idea! Give me a shout when you're next in Cambridge.
Not sure which place you mean that does the doorstep sandwiches, but the Mitre is cool. (Though the Pickerel is cooler, and does Old Peculier. And chip butties.)
