... must come to an end. So I find myself unfortunately back in the windswept flatlands now after a lovely holiday which I may write about at greater length some day. (Summary: company, food, scenery and weather all excellent.)

Will probably never catch up with LiveJournal, so if anything interesting's happened that I ought to know about, please let me know by email (or comment here).

Nope. Just not doing it. Waste of time and energy. Salad is much better. ... At least, nobody's ever used me as a free source of salad while lying to me about everything else. As far as I can remember.

I am dying of a rare disease and radishes are the only things that can cure me. Please send me lots of radishes, immediately. And avocados, but only properly ripe ones - I cut one in half yesterday and it was black. Is there anything worse than that?

Welcome back. I didn't want to come back from Nice either, but came to the same conclusion as you about money. And the fact that I can't speak much French and find it very difficult to learn languages would make living there difficult.

However, I will gladly come and visit you and bring you radishes and avocados. So long as I can share the avocados.

Ditto, but to be honest it didn't bother me overmuch. I got by when I needed to, and by and large I was happy to just be isolated from the vast majority of communications. I think I should become a hermit.
