(*) One curry house memorably bought out a big two-layer box of the blighters just for our party of 15. I think it was Jamal's in Oxford, but it might just as easily have been somewhere in Birmingham.

I did have a rum truffle from Nadia's today (which I've never done before) but that was before lunchtime. It was good, but my eyes were evidently bigger than my stomach (as my mum always used to tell me) because I could only eat about 2/3 of it. Which would have been fine except that I'd bought another cake as well, because at the time I was really hungry.
My stomach doesn't know what the hell it's doing.

Date: 2004-10-07 08:29 am (UTC)Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. No. No, no, no.
have you done this before
No, neither in a lunchbreak or elsewhen. (I've clarified this in the original entry now, sorry it was a bit ambiguous.)

Date: 2004-10-07 08:29 am (UTC)No! That would have been really clever. Too clever for me this late in a long week. :)
(I have guessed before, though. Lots of things. And usually been wrong.)

Date: 2004-10-07 08:32 am (UTC)Signed up to do a charity stunt of the nature of abseiling down Carfax Tower (but a Tab-specific tower obviously, I don't know which would be most abseil-friendly, never having considered them in that light).
Bought lunch for a stranger.
Bought Woman's Weekly or something similar in tone.
Er...

Date: 2004-10-07 08:41 am (UTC)I did briefly sign up to do a bungee jump for charity once, but was told not to by then-boyfriend, so un-signed-up.
Bought _Women's Weekly_ or something similar in tone.
I used to buy Prima occasionally, actually, and still sometimes buy the Sainsbury's Magazine... gosh, all my guilty secrets are coming out now.

Bought a live badger?
Somehow, I've managed to list them from "extremely improbable" to "I can just about see that happen".

Date: 2004-10-07 08:44 am (UTC)My bursting wardrobes and chests-of-drawers are testimony to the fact that in fact I do this all the time. :)
Bought a live badger?
In the UK this would result in, at the very least, a £5,000 fine -- they're a protected species. Which is probably a good thing, really; but all the same, I would love to rear a little baby badger. (I would release it into the wild carefully when it was grown up of course, because a fully-grown badger is Big and Not A Sensible Pet.)
I have not applied to the French Foreign Legion. :)
