Clarification: I had never done this thing before at lunchtime or at any other time. (And it's really not that interesting, I was just being daft & interested to know what people thought I might have done.)

Nope - done that before as well! (Got a slightly tacky but perfectly-adequate-for-practice set of matching katana, wakazashi and tanto for £100, which I thought at the time was quite a bargain but have only actually used the katana.)
